The Bible: The Bible is the story of God. It reveals to us who God is, what He's done, what He's going to do, and how we can live a life that is pleasing to Him today. God inspired men to write the books of the Bible through the Holy Spirit. It is God-breathed and can be trusted as the very words of God. It is our authority as to what constitutes right & wrong, and our guide for what is truth.
God: We believe in the Trinitarian God, consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are God and God is One. Our God is not man-made, or a nice story to sum up how everything came to be. He is the Creator, Designer, and Sustainer of all life. He is all powerful, all knowing, with nothing happening outside of His knowledge. He is eternal, having no beginning or end.
Man: Man was made in God's image yet decided to revolt against His rule. We have all missed the mark of God's will for our lives and have been separated from Him due to our rebellion, whether blatantly or in ignorance. Man is completely incapable of resolving this separation on his own.
The Good News: God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth a little over 2,000 years ago. Jesus did not have an earthly father but was born of a virgin mother and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a perfect life, in perfect alignment with the Father's will, perfectly revealing the character/nature of God. Jesus was sent to earth on a mission, the cross. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment for the sins of all mankind. He was crushed by God the Father, taking our place and the punishment we deserve. He is our substitute. He died from His wounds and was buried in a tomb. Three days later He rose from the dead and was seen by over 500 people in a span of some 40 days. After 40 days He ascended into heaven and promised to come back and set up His physical rule on earth. His Kingdom will never end.
Jesus: Jesus is the God Man. Jesus is both 100% God and 100% man. He was born of a virgin. He is the long anticipated Messiah to the Jews. He taught with the authority of God, and His teachings continue to be our authority to this day. He is Lord. Jesus was sinless and in His sinlessness was crucified on a Roman cross for the sins of mankind. Jesus was crushed by God the Father, taking our place on the cross and the punishment each of us deserve. Jesus is the Savior of the world, there is salvation in no other name. Jesus died and rose from the dead three days later. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and promised to come again and set His Kingdom up on earth. Jesus is King.
Salvation: Those who repent and place their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior come into a right relationship with God, their sins are forgiven. They are filled with the Holy Spirit and become children of God. They have eternal life. Their hearts, once in opposition to God, are transformed into looking more and more like God's own heart, mirroring His character. This is evidenced in their lives by good deeds. Jesus' redemptive work on our behalf is our only hope when it comes to salvation. Jesus Alone Saves.
