I was born and raised in Silverton. I grew up going to church but never came into a real relationship with God until my early 20s. It was not until I met my wife Laura in 2009 that I started to get really serious about following Jesus. Laura and I married in 2011 and moved to Minnesota, where she pursued her career as a horse trainer and I taught special education. While in Minnesota I started helping out at the youth group where we went to church and was asked to give the lesson one Wednesday night, that's when everything started to change, and the calling began. The senior pastor at the church began mentoring me, teaching me Greek, and I began to teach at church on Sunday mornings periodically. In 2013, Laura and I moved back to Silverton and I started attending Western Seminary, working towads an MDiv. We ended up buying a house and I went back to teaching special educaton full-time. In 2017 I left teaching to become a youth pastor at a local church and it was during this time that God made it abundantly clear that we were supposed to plant a church in Silverton (see Church Story). We planted True Light in April of 2018 and what a blessing it has been. Since then God has added two sons to our family, Micaiah (born in 2018) and Ezekiel/Zeke (born in 2022). I still teach special education here in town and Laura owns her own horse training business. In my free time I like to hang out with my family, read, golf, cook and lift weights. My #1 passion in life is preaching the Word of God and seeing people receive new life in Jesus. I love True Light and what God has done here, and I'm very excited to see what the future holds for Jesus' church.
